First Impressions Century T1200

Well as Mark Taylor has the desire to cast a beasty rod and weights up to 300 gram  he decided to order one in the current order.

We also got some itiwnium guides for it and I set these up with a temporary tip guide as I didn't have one with a large enough tube to fit which was irritating but better than nothing.
Casting with the rod kicked of down at Cherry Lake this morning and I decided that since the guidelines were for this rod to be used with the heavier leads, I started casting with the 200 gram. This was short lived however as I had a rush of blood wanting to smack the rod and snapped the lead off. I then went back to the car and re-rigged with a new leader and attached the 175 gram to her.

I must say that whilst a very powerful rod it was not to bad as I got the feel of how she loaded up.

Here is the video from that morning session for you guys and gals interested in heavy duty rods.

And here is the afternoon session as well

Although this is rated as a very powerful rod there is still some movement in the tip. Look great. Sure Mark will have some memorable moments with his new rod....
